NMB Bank’s Gorakhnath Mandir Clean Up program(05 March, 2014)

NMB Social Initiative, a nonprofit organization established by the staff of NMB Bank Ltd organized a Clean Up program of the Gorakhnath Mandir premises on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. NMB Bank has been maintaining the temple after renovating it two years ago. Members of NMB Social Initiative and the executive committee of the Bank participated in the program to strengthen the Bank’s initiative on Heritage preservation.

NMB Bank sponsors Bal Mandir Children on 18th Anniversary (26 December, 2013)

NMB Bank marked its 18th Anniversary through its CSR program, by providing sponsorship to nine children of Bal Mandir in the form of fixed deposits of NPR. 50, 000 that each of the children will be eligible to withdraw once they turn 18 years. The objective behind this is to ensure that the children have decent amount of savings by the time they become adults and utilize the fund for furthering their education, said a statement issued by the Bank. Likewise the Bank rendered support by contributing to the food grains stock at Bal Mandir. NMB Bank has 26 branches, 1 extension counter and 30ATM outlets across the country.

2nd NMB Bank Inter-School Heritage Painting Competition Winners Announced(26 September, 2013)

The results of the 2nd NMB Bank Inter-school Heritage Painting Competition 2013 were announced in a ceremony held at the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts(NAFA) following a four day exhibition of the paintings at the Arniko Gallery - NAFA.

The winners of the Top 5 Paintings were –Ajambir Tamang – Landmark Educational Foundation School,Sinamangal; Samyog Mahat – Tamakoshi English Boarding School, Manthali; Raghu Barmashakha – Shangrila International School, Chapagaun, Lalitpur; Sandesh Raj Shakya, Graded English Medium School (GEMS), Dhapakhel, Lalitpur and Nabin Adhikari, Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya;Sallaghari, Bhaktapur.

The award for the “Most Popular Painting on Facebook” based on the highest number of ‘likes’ received on Facebook went to Rozen Yadav of Bal Kalyan Vidya Mandir Secondary School, Biratnagar.

The winners were awarded certificates, trophies and cash prize of Rs. 20,000 each.

The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Kiran Manandhar – Chancellor, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts. The paintings were judged by a panel of judges comprising of Sangeeta Thapa, Curator – Siddartha Art Gallery; Dr. Seema Sharma Shah, Head – Department of Fine Arts – Tribhuwan University; Anil Chitrakar – Social Entrepreneur; Krishna Manandhar, Principal – Srijana College of Fine Arts.

2nd NMB Bank Inter-School Heritage Painting Competition (22 September, 2013)

NMB Social Initiative, with technical assistance from Srijana College of Fine Arts organized the 2nd NMB Bank Inter-school Heritage Painting Competition, a nationwide event on 21st September 2013 at the premises of Patan Museum. The event was a part of the initiative on corporate social responsibility on heritage preservation undertaken by the Bank. 112 students from 112 schools all over the nation participated in the competition. NMB Social Initiative believes that the schools and their combined efforts will help them take a step forward towards spreading awareness about preserving the rich heritage sites of Nepal. Meanwhile, social entrepreneur, Mr. Anil Chitrakar was the Guest of Honour. He highlighted the importance of Heritage preservation and delivered his motivational speech to all participating students before commencement of the competition. Furthermore, all the paintings from the competition will be exhibited for 04 days at NAFA (Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Naxal) from 23 – 26 September 2013 and the winners will be announced on the last day of exhibition i.e. 26th of September 2013.

NMB Bank's 2nd Inter School Heritage Painting Competition 2013 Registration Open (19 August, 2013)

Registration opens for the 2nd NMB Bank Inter School Heritage Painting Competition 2013 inviting all schools from across the country for participation. The competition is scheduled to be held on 21st September, 2013. NMB Bank has been involved in creating awareness for preservation of heritage as part of its corporate social responsibility for last few years. The aim of this event is to create awareness on the importance of Heritage amongst younger generation, who need to be educated in order to ensure that they will in future, work towards its preservation as well, said a statement issued by the Bank. The competition witnessed more than one hundred school participation in 2012, with the Top 5 Paintings being awarded cash prize of NPR 20,000 each. The competition is open to all schools with each student participating from class 8-10. Registration for the competition closes on 25th August, 2013 and is on ‘first come first serve’ basis.

NMB Bank's 2nd Heritage Walk 2012 on its 17th Anniversary (29 December, 2012)

NMB Bank marked its 17th Anniversary on 28th December 2012. To celebrate this day, the Bank organized '2nd Heritage Walk 2012' in association with Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The Bank has been committed to pledge its support for the preservation of rich heritage sites since last year. The Bank had celebrated its 16th Anniversary by organizing the first ever Heritage Walk in the country. This year too, the Bank has given continuity to the initiative of heritage preservation by organizing the 2nd Heritage Walk. The sole purpose of this event was to raise awareness about the importance of preservation of our heritage sites among the local communities. The 2nd Heritage Walk 2012 was inaugurated by NMB Bank's CEO, Mr. Upendra Poudyal by cutting the ribbon at the bank's head office at Babarmahal. The Heritage Walk started from Babarmahal through Thapathali, Tripureshwore, Sundhara, Bhotahity, Ason, Indrachowk, and finally assembled at Basantapur for the closing ceremony with participation of invited guests, bank's executives, directors, customers, staff, media & general people.

For the closing ceremony held at Basantapur, Kathmandu Metropolitan City's CEO, Mr. Kedar Bahadur Adhikari was the chief guest along with other distinguished guests including Mr. Anil Chitrakar; renowned artist, social elite and media personality Mr. Kanak Mani Dixit, and CEO of the Bank Mr. Upendra Poudyal. Speaking on the occasion, all the guests emphasized on the importance of preserving the rich heritage sites around the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kanak Mani Dixit congratulated the Bank for continuing this joint initiative with Kathmandu Metropolitian City. He further stressed that the Bank's initiative commenced from last year has proved to be a positive step which has been instrumental in further generating the awareness by the local communities towards the importance of our heritage preservation. Renowned social entrepreneur and guest Mr. Anil Chitrakar said, "The heritage sites in our country are our identity, they are the link to our past and our future generations have the right to know about their past and enjoy the aesthetic beauty of the monuments." Likewise Mr. Upendra Poudyal CEO of the bank expressed the Bank's commitment to support the heritage preservation drive in the future as well and thanked all the guests, participants, sponsors for their support towards the cause. The Bank also organized 'fund raising' for heritage preservation by keeping a donation box at the Bank's premises during the opening ceremony. The CEO of the Bank also informed that the Bank renovated the Gorakhnath Temple in Thapathali, Kathmandu with the funds collected from last year's campaign.

The competition was a part of the initiative on corporate social responsibility on heritage preservation undertaken by the Bank on their 16th Anniversary.

116 students from 69 schools all over the nation participated in the competition; making the event a grand success. NMB Social Initiative believes that the schools and their combined efforts will help them take a step forward towards spreading awareness about preserving the rich heritage sites of Nepal.

" We are glad to have successfully organized such a grand event. Our belief that these students will contribute to spreading awareness on the preservation of our heritage sites, has become stronger after seeing so much love & respect for our heritage sites in their paintings." said Mr. Upendra Poudyal, CEO NMB Bank. Furthermore he said that the bank has subsequent plans to continue this heritage preservation drive by organizing similar events in near future. He also thanked all the guests, judges, sponsors, and all participants for making the event a success.

Singh Memorial School.

NMB Bank's Heritage Initiative on World Heritage Day (18th April, 2012)

On the occasion of World Heritage day, NMB Bank's Social Initiative Fund organized 'Bhadrakali Temple Cleaning Program" in association with Kathmandu Metropolitan City as a part of their CSR activities. As a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, NMB Bank organized Heritage Walk last year to raise awareness towards the preservation of the heritage sites, with the slogan "Let's preserve our Heritage Sites", to commemorate its 16 Anniversary.

 The bank strongly believes that it is the responsibility of every citizen to preserve the heritage sites, and instill a sense of responsibility among the local people. The bank is committed to further its initiative by encouraging the local community to take part in the preservation work of the rich heritage sites of the country.

Speaking at the ceremony the CEO of the bank Mr. Upendra Poudel said, "We are taking this initiative in hope that we can make a difference to safeguard the future of our heritage sites. We believe that small steps taken by every individual now can make a huge difference in the future. We take pride that we are playing a part on this initiative to preserve our nation's heritage sites. We will be organizing national level campaigns for heritage preservation in future as well. We are grateful to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office for all the help and support for our campaign. "

On the same ceremony the bank also announced to organize a nationwide Inter-school Heritage painting competition, to take the heritage preservation initiative to school level. The competition modality is at its final stage.

Health Camp Conducted at Armala VDC, Kaski (7th January, 2012)

NMB Bank's Pokhara Branch organized free health camp in association with Metro Hospital City on 7 January 2012, Saturday at Armala V.D.C., Kaski. The health camp is organized to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services and counseling from Gynecologist, Ophthalmologist, and General Physicians. The Bank has chosen health, education, and heritage conservation to conduct its CSR activities.

The Bank has also decided to provide banking services to the people living in Armala V.D.C. NMB Bank has been continuously providing value-added products and services to its clients, promoting a corporate culture that adheres to the highest ethical standards and shouldering on social issues beyond banking. Contributing to the society, NMB Bank has regularly been organizing such initiatives for the betterment of the society.

16th Anniversary Celebration - "Alakapuri Kantipuri Heritage Walk-2011" (30th December, 2011)

NMB Bank and Kathmandu Metropolitan City jointly organized "Alakapuri (Kantipuri) Heritage Walk-2011" with a theme of "Let's preserve our heritage sites" on December 30, 2011 in order to celebrate 16th anniversary of the Bank. The objectives of the event are to increase public awareness of the importance of historic and environmental conservation, preserve local historic and cultural landmarks, educate visitors on sustainable tourism and strengthen local communities through preservation efforts.

The event was inaugurated by NMB Bank's Director and former chairman Mr. Aatma Ram Murarka at the Bank's premise. The rally comprising of Bank's directors, management people, customers, employees, media personalities, invited guests and general people marched from Babarmahal to Thapathali, Tripureshwor, Bagdurbar, Bhotahity, Kamalachhi, Ason, Hanumandhoka and ended at Basantapur Dubar Square where closing ceremony was organized. Mr. Satyamohan Joshi, Nepal Tourism Board's Acting Executive Officer Mr. Subash Niraula, Mr. Kanakmani Dixit, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Building and Heritage Division Chief Mr. Indra Man Suwal, NMB Bank's Director and former chairman Mr. Aatma Ram Murarka and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Upendra Poudyal shared their views on the importance of heritage and its conservation for national identity.

The heritage walk is organized as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Mr. Aatma Ram Murarka addressed that the historic heritage not only exhibits our rich art and culture but also plays a major role in attracting foreign tourists and contribute in national economy and told that the Bank has decided to commit its 16th year for the conservation of national heritage sites.

The Bank has declared that it will contribute NPR 10 for heritage conservation to NMB Social Initiative's account whenever new Alakapuri Savings is opened.

Health Camp conducted at Biratnagar Branch (17th December, 2011)

NMB Bank in association with Life Guard Hospital Pvt. Ltd. organized a free health camp on 17 December 2011.  The health camp was organized to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services from Surgeons and General Physicians. The patients were distributed free medicines as well. More than  250 people were benefitted from the Health Camp.participated in the health camp.

The people visiting the health camp got free medical services from Cardiologist, Gynaecologist and General Physician. About 150 people participated in the health camp.

Health Camp conducted at Lubhu Branch (27th August, 2011)

NMB Bank successfully conducted one day health camp on 27th August, 2011 at its Lubhu branch. The health camp was organized in association with Venus International Hospital to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp were provided free health checkup from Gynaecologist, Eye Specialist, Chest Specialist, and General Physician. 201 people visited the camp and took the health benefits.

NMB Bank successfully conducted one day health camp on 18th June, 2011 at its Thaiba branch to continue its 15th anniversary celebration. The health camp was organized in association with Venus International Hospital to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp were provided free health checkup from Gynaecologist, Eye Specialist, Chest Specialist, and General Physician. 136 people visited the camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp extended to Pokhara Branch (7th April - 8th April, 2011)

After successfully conducting health camps at its Babarmahal, Chabahil & NewRoad branch, NMB Bank extended its health camp event at its Pokhara branch from 7th April to 8th April, 2011 to continue marking the celebration of Bank's 15th anniversary. The health camp was organized in association with Manipal Teaching Hospital to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services like Blood Sugar Test, Blood Pressure Test, dermatological test, and counseling from specialist doctors. 200 people visited the camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp extended to NewRoad Branch (3rd March, 2011)

Continuing to celebrate 15th anniversary, NMB Bank extended health camp at its NewRoad Branch on 3rd March 2011. The bank successfully conducted three days health camp at its HeadOffice from 26th December to 28th December 2010 and one day camp at its Chabahil branch on 21st February, 2011. The health camp was organized to increase health awareness among residents, business person in NewRoad area as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services like Blood Sugar Test, Urine and Stool Test, and counseling from specialist doctors. 206 people visited the health camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp extended to Chabahil Branch (21st February, 2011)

Continuation to the celebration of 15th Anniversary, NMB Bank organized a free health camp on 21 Feb 2011 at its Chabahil Branch where the people visiting the health camp got free medical services and counseling from specialist doctors. Around 200 people were benefitted from a day camp.

Donation to Pranabananda Ashram (6th January, 2011)

Contributing to the society, NMB Bank donated education cost for one of the outstanding children living in Pranabananda Ashram. The bank has been funding the Ashram since four years and will continue to support in future. Pranabananda Ashram is a care center for destitute children gathered from different parts of the country.

On the auspicious occasion of 15th anniversary, NMB Bank in association with Venus International Hospital organized free health camp for three days from 26th December to 28th December, 2010. The health camp was organized to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services like Blood Sugar Test, Urine and Stool Test, and counseling from specialist doctors. Heritage Painting Competition Registration

World Heritage Day Clean Up Program (18 April, 2013)


NMB Social Initiative in association with Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office and Bhadrakali Guthi organized a Clean Up program of the Bhadrakali Mandir premises to mark the 41st World Heritage Day. The Clean Up program was organized to give continuity to the initiative that was started in 2012 on the occasion of World Heritage Day. The Bank also launched a drive to make Bhadrakali Mandir premises a 'plastic free zone'. Compost bins which help convert waste offerings to compost and facilitate waste management were handed over by Mr. Upendra Poudyal, CEO- NMB Bank Ltd to the Bhadrakali Guthi Sansthan. The program saw active participation from staff of Kathmandu Municipal Corporation, Guthi Sansthan, Rotract Club of Kasthamandap, NMB Bank Ltd and NMB Bank Machhindra Club. Similar Clean Up programs were organized in all the Bank's branches across the country.

16th Anniversary Celebration - "Alakapuri Kantipuri Heritage Walk-2011" (30th December, 2011)

NMB Bank and Kathmandu Metropolitan City jointly organized “Alakapuri (Kantipuri) Heritage Walk-2011” with a theme of “Let’s preserve our heritage sites” on December 30, 2011 in order to celebrate 16th anniversary of the Bank. The objectives of the event are to increase public awareness of the importance of historic and environmental conservation, preserve local historic and cultural landmarks, educate visitors on sustainable tourism and strengthen local communities through preservation efforts.

The event was inaugurated by NMB Bank’s Director and former chairman Mr. Aatma Ram Murarka at the Bank’s premise. The rally comprising of Bank’s directors, management people, customers, employees, media personalities, invited guests and general people marched from Babarmahal to Thapathali, Tripureshwor, Bagdurbar, Bhotahity, Kamalachhi, Ason, Hanumandhoka and ended at Basantapur Dubar Square where closing ceremony was organized. Mr. Satyamohan Joshi, Nepal Tourism Board’s Acting Executive Officer Mr. Subash Niraula, Mr. Kanakmani Dixit, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Building and Heritage Division Chief Mr. Indra Man Suwal, NMB Bank’s Director and former chairman Mr. Aatma Ram Murarka and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Upendra Poudyal shared their views on the importance of heritage and its conservation for national identity.

The heritage walk is organized as a part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Mr. Aatma Ram Murarka addressed that the historic heritage not only exhibits our rich art and culture but also plays a major role in attracting foreign tourists and contribute in national economy and told that the Bank has decided to commit its 16th year for the conservation of national heritage sites.

The Bank has declared that it will contribute NPR 10 for heritage conservation to NMB Social Initiative’s account whenever new Alakapuri Savings is opened.

Health Camp conducted at Biratnagar Branch (17th December, 2011)

NMB Bank in association with Life Guard Hospital Pvt. Ltd. organized a free health camp on 17 December 2011.  The health camp was organized to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services from Surgeons and General Physicians. The patients were distributed free medicines as well. More than  250 people were benefitted from the Health Camp.participated in the health camp.

NMB Bank marked its 15th anniversary by organizing free health camps in the vicinity of its branches in Babarmahal, Chabahil, Doti, Pokhara, Lubhu, Thaiba, NewRoad, Birgunj, & Biratnagar. Health Camp conducted at Birgunj Branch (17th September, 2011)

NMB Bank in association with Bhawani Hospital and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd organized a free health camp on 17 September 2011. The health camp is organized to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services from Cardiologist, Gynaecologist and General Physician. About 150 people participated in the health camp.

Health Camp conducted at Lubhu Branch (27th August, 2011)

NMB Bank successfully conducted one day health camp on 27th August, 2011 at its Lubhu branch. The health camp was organized in association with Venus International Hospital to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp were provided free health checkup from Gynaecologist, Eye Specialist, Chest Specialist, and General Physician. 201 people visited the camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp conducted at Thaiba Branch (18th June, 2011)

NMB Bank successfully conducted one day health camp on 18th June, 2011 at its Thaiba branch to continue its 15th anniversary celebration. The health camp was organized in association with Venus International Hospital to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp were provided free health checkup from Gynaecologist, Eye Specialist, Chest Specialist, and General Physician. 136 people visited the camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp extended to Pokhara Branch (7th April - 8th April, 2011)

After successfully conducting health camps at its Babarmahal, Chabahil & NewRoad branch, NMB Bank extended its health camp event at its Pokhara branch from 7th April to 8th April, 2011 to continue marking the celebration of Bank's 15th anniversary. The health camp was organized in association with Manipal Teaching Hospital to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services like Blood Sugar Test, Blood Pressure Test, dermatological test, and counseling from specialist doctors. 200 people visited the camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp extended to NewRoad Branch (3rd March, 2011)

Continuing to celebrate 15th anniversary, NMB Bank extended health camp at its NewRoad Branch on 3rd March 2011. The bank successfully conducted three days health camp at its HeadOffice from 26th December to 28th December 2010 and one day camp at its Chabahil branch on 21st February, 2011. The health camp was organized to increase health awareness among residents, business person in NewRoad area as a part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services like Blood Sugar Test, Urine and Stool Test, and counseling from specialist doctors. 206 people visited the health camp and took the health benefits.

Health Camp extended to Chabahil Branch (21st February, 2011)

Continuation to the celebration of 15th Anniversary, NMB Bank organized a free health camp on 21 Feb 2011 at its Chabahil Branch where the people visiting the health camp got free medical services and counseling from specialist doctors. Around 200 people were benefitted from a day camp.

Donation to Pranabananda Ashram (6th January, 2011)

Contributing to the society, NMB Bank donated education cost for one of the outstanding children living in Pranabananda Ashram. The bank has been funding the Ashram since four years and will continue to support in future. Pranabananda Ashram is a care center for destitute children gathered from different parts of the country.

Health Camp at Head Office (26th December- 28th December 2010)

On the auspicious occasion of 15th anniversary, NMB Bank in association with Venus International Hospital organized free health camp for three days from 26th December to 28th December, 2010. The health camp was organized to increase health awareness among general public as a part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The people visiting the health camp got free medical services like Blood Sugar Test, Urine and Stool Test, and counseling from specialist doctors. About 500 people took the health services in three days camp.
